Privacy Policy
OUR CUSTOMER PRIVACY PRINCIPLES

At Connecticut River Bank, N.A., we know how important personal privacy is to you. Because of our interest in protecting your privacy, we have adopted the following privacy principles, continuing our commitment to provide quality service to you, our valued customer, whether you interact with us in person, by telephone, through the mail, on-line, or at an ATM.

1. Customer Expectation of Privacy
We know that you expect privacy and security for your personal and financial affairs. We understand the need to safeguard sensitive information that you have entrusted with us. We have standards and procedures designed to prevent misuse of this information. We do not disclose any nonpublic personal information of our customers or former customers to anyone, except as described in this Notice or otherwise permitted by law.

2. Use, Collection, and Retention of Customer Information
We collect, use, and retain information about you from the following sources:

  1. Information we receive from you on applications or other forms;
  2. Information about your transactions with us, our affiliate [New Hampshire Trust Company], or others; and
  3. Information we receive from a consumer reporting agency.

This information is used only to administer our business or provide products, services, and other opportunities for you. We may disclose all of the information that we collect as described above to companies that perform marketing services on our behalf or to other financial institutions with whom we have joint marketing agreements.

3. Maintaining Accurate Information
We have procedures to help assure that your financial information is accurate, current, and complete in accordance with federal and state regulations. We also have procedures to respond to your requests to correct inaccurate information in a timely manner. You should notify us immediately if you receive information regarding your relationship with us that you believe is inaccurate.

4. Limiting Employee Access to Information
Employee access to your nonpublic personal information is limited to those employees with a business reason to know such information.  The importance of confidentiality and customer privacy is addressed in our employee handbook, “Code of Ethics,” and within our standard operating procedures. We take appropriate disciplinary measures to enforce employee privacy responsibilities.

We maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that comply with federal regulations to guard your nonpublic personal information. We update and test our technology to continuously improve the protection of our information about you and to assure the integrity of our information.

6. Restrictions on Disclosing Account Information
We will  share your nonpublic personal information only (1) with reputable reporting agencies as allowed by the Fair Credit Reporting Act; (2) with third parties when the information is provided to help complete a transaction initiated by you or to otherwise administer our business; (3) when you request it; (4) when the disclosure is required or allowed by law (for example, a subpoena); and (5) to make available special offers of products or services through Connecticut River Bank’s joint marketing business relationships (for example, Generations Gold [deposit account enhancements]; Infinex Investments, Inc. [securities and insurance];Travelers Express [official checks]; and First BankCard of Omaha-Credit Card Services [credit cards]). We may also share transactions and experience information with our affiliate, New Hampshire Trust Company.

7. Maintaining Customer Privacy in Business Relationships with Third Parties
When we provide nonpublic personal information about you to third parties who provide services to us, such as our core processing software vendor or a computer service company that we hire to provide support or services for one or more of our products, these vendors and service companies agree to safeguard our information about you and your products and services with us and must abide by applicable federal and state law regarding the sharing of this information.

We recognize the importance of protecting the privacy of personally identifying information that may be submitted to us when you visit our website.

The information we receive depends on what you do when you visit our site. This is how we handle the information we learn about you from your visit to our website.

If you visit our site to read or download information on our web pages such as press releases and checking and savings account information:
We collect and store only the following information about you:

  1. Name of the domain from which you access the Internet (for example, www.aol.com, if you are connecting from an America Online account, or a similar domain corresponding to your Internet Service Provider "ISP")
  2. Date and time you access our website
  3. Pages you may have visited on our site
  4. Internet address of the website from where you came to visit our website

We use the information we collect to measure the number of visitors to the different pages and sections of our site, and to help us make our site more useful to visitors.

If you visit our website to use interactive banking tools such as financial calculators and self-tests:
You may be asked for personal information in order to complete the requested analysis or evaluation. This information is NOT retained.

If you identify yourself by sending an e-mail or filling forms such as applications, check reorder forms, contact forms and guest registers:
You may be asked for personally identifying information in order to process your e-mail, form or application. We and our business partners may retain this information for processing and to facilitate decisions. Information you submit to us is treated no differently than any information you might provide in a written format such as a brochure application; reorder slip to order checks, or a letter.

We Want To Be Very Clear

We protect and safeguard the privacy of users of our on-line services, just as we do throughout the rest of our business. We will use personal information to identify you, to communicate with you, and to help us answer your questions.

We will NOT sell personally-identifying information to a third party for the purpose of solicitation or provide personal information to a third party for its own use.
